My name is Jessica Gean. I am the K-4 Special Education Teacher at BGS. I grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas called Protection. I received my BS from Kansas State University, my SPED endorsement from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and my masters from Fort Hays. This is my 19th year of teaching most of those being in Protection. I am an avid KSU fan. In my free time I like to go home and spend time with my family, especially my nephew and niece. |
I am excited to bring my teaching experience to Bennington because I believe in learning through projects and mentoring as a part of education. Although I attended school in several states, I graduated high school as a Holdenville Wolverine and college as an ECU Tiger. I am married, have two daughters and have taught all grade levels. I am an avid reader of biographies, mysteries and classic literature. I also enjoy trivia, games and anything creative; sewing, painting, scrapbooking, woodworking, etc. |
I have been a teacher at Tescott for 18 years and love working with the students. My goal with each of my students is to assist them in putting a voice to their disability and recognizing and maximizing their strengths as valuable students. I attempt to recognize each student’s potential and keep them focused on making positive changes that will move them toward becoming productive adults. |
My name is Eric Winters and 2018 will be my 20th year in education. I have lived in the Bennington/Salina area since the 1980's with my wife and 4 daughters. I am excited to be teaching at Bennington Jr./Sr. HS beginning this upcoming school year. I personally enjoy playing the guitar, working on old hot rods and tinkering out in my shop. |

Student/Parent Resources |

We provide support services, Class within a class. This involves use of paraprofessional in the general education classroom. While we provide this support, worst case scenario we also provide pull out services; where the student will learn the same material at a different pace. We do this to meet the needs of all our students, so they are in the least restrictive environment. This is meant to deter the negative stigma that is associated with Special Education.
