I grew up in a small town in Northeast Florida, where I was very involved in agriculture classes and FFA in high school. Taking agriculture classes and being involved FFA allowed me to have exposure to the many different opportunities agriculture has for someone. I received my Bachelor’s in Animal Science from Kansas State then started working on a Master’s in Animal Science where I was working in a Muscle Biology lab on different research projects. After a couple of months working in the lab, I realized that I did not want to work in the research field, but I loved teaching undergrad workers different lab techniques and explaining the science behind certain techniques. Therefore, I changed majors to Agricultural Education which I graduated from this last spring with a Master’s and will be teaching at both Bennington and Tescott schools this coming school year.
